Where Do I Sign a California Title?
California titles require two signatures. Both are on the front of the title. The first is in the center of the title and is labeled "Signature of Registered Owner" A second signature is required for the odometer statement. The field is labeled "Transferor Seller Signature" located on the lower left.
Be Accurate When Signing Your Vehicle Title!
It is important to be prepared when you are ready to sign a car title. The sellers name MUST match the name of the owner(s) on the front of the title. Verify your are signing correctly BEFORE signing the title! Incorrect signatures, signatures in incorrect locations, erasures and mark outs may void the title.
